The Maiden Edition Of Kith & Kin Creative Arts Competition & Exhibition
Protocol It gladdens my heart to welcome our parents, guests and students to our maiden edition of Kith & Kin Creative Arts Exhibition and Competition. In most components of creative arts such as Music, Fine Art, Crafts, Drama, Dance, Painting, Photography, Fashion and even food, our students have found fun and pleasure in discovering themselves and the whole experience has made schooling in Kith & Kin enjoyable. Our promotion/teaching of creative Arts is deliberate and consciously guided to align with our mission which is “to identify and support the uniqueness of each child to learn in the intelligence in which he/she is smartest”. We are glad to partner with the department of Creative Arts Faculty of Arts, University of Lagos and the department of Art, Lagos State Polytechnic to train and mentor our students in all events. The professional touch and skills imparted to the students have made the whole difference, and it has motivated the students to greater performance. The students shall be staging a drama on the second day. The title of the drama is “The gods are not to blame” – a play written by Ola Rotimi. From our experience, and the response of our students to the new skill acquired, we hope to make teaching and promotion of creative arts a permanent feature of our curriculum. We shall henceforth organize the annual Kith & Kin Creative Arts Competition and Exhibition”. The purpose shall be to offer opportunities and more space for students to discover themselves and to make learning, and our learning environment fun and enjoyable. Kaoli Olusanya CLO 21st February, 2007.
